08 - Open Heavens 2019 - Day 5 Session 1

• June 3, 2019
This opening Open Heavens session combines worship, several teaching contributions, extended intercession and communion. An introductory exhortation asks listeners to consider Jesus’ teaching about his coming within its Jewish and scriptural setting. A speaker introduced as Francis connects Acts 1, Matthew 24, Joel 2, Revelation and Isaiah 25, arguing that the church must nurture the Spirit’s work rather than treat revival as a temporary emotional event. He interprets heavenly signs and the Son of Man through a corporate, spiritual reading of these passages.
The congregation then prays for renewed spiritual sight, stronger intercession, steadfastness under opposition and God’s righteous government within believers. Communion is framed as agreement with God’s purposes for the worldwide church, followed by reported visions and encouragement to act on what has been received.
A later teaching develops 1 Corinthians 2: divine wisdom is revealed by the Spirit rather than reduced to persuasive speech or worldly status. Biblical symbolism is described as a coded disclosure of God’s purposes, illustrated through the magi, Herod and Revelation’s woman and child. The session ends in thanksgiving and practical announcements. Historical, scientific and eschatological claims remain the speakers’ assertions and require separate review before public reuse.
Give wisdom, understanding, spiritual sight and strength to receive and respond to God’s word.
Pour out grace and supplication and strengthen sustained intercession.
Heal spiritual blindness in ministers and congregations so that they see Christ clearly.
Let righteousness govern thoughts and imagination, and strengthen us to stand under opposition.
Awaken the wider church and align its life with God’s purposes.
