Bodies Celestial and Stars Of The Firmament (Charge)

Francis Isibor • January 10, 2025 • 277 views

In the sixth-day charge, Francis Isibor continues the previous comparison of the first and last Adam. He proposes that their bodies have different sources and uses that distinction to frame believers’ identity in Christ. John’s language of becoming God’s children, Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus, heavenly citizenship and new creation are brought together as an appeal to recognize belonging to God. The speaker uses DNA, genealogy and an invisible umbilical cord as explanatory language; these are his theological images and assertions, not biological findings. He explicitly invites correction early in the charge and presents the discussion as an introduction to further teaching. The central development joins identity to relationship and promise. Meditation in the Word is pictured through the tree beside water, while Ephesians 1 and Psalm 90 identify blessing, holiness and God as dwelling place. The minister then distinguishes natural descent from spiritual participation in Abraham’s promise through Christ. Genesis 15 is read as a covenant encounter in which Abram receives assurance, sees the stars and believes. The speaker extends the scene beyond its stated wording, interpreting the encounter as a journey into heavenly realms and a change in Abraham’s genetics. Personal visionary memories and comments about stars support his imaginative reading, but neither the visions nor the genetic account is independently verified by the recording. The closing movement makes the celestial theme explicit through Daniel 12:1-3. The minister reads trouble, deliverance, resurrection and the promise that the wise and those who lead others toward righteousness will shine like the firmament and stars. He connects difficulty with his prior account of purification and preparation, then pauses the charge for an evening continuation. The strongest practical through-line is to search Scripture, understand identity in Christ, trust God’s promise and pursue wise, righteous influence. The celestial imagery is retained as the sermon’s theological picture rather than converted into a prediction, a literal claim about human composition or a method of spiritual astronomy.
