The Book of Galatians Part 11 | Child or Son

• August 12, 2025 • 2 views

The first portion is a pastoral appeal about a perceived season of restoration and recovery. The speaker interprets daily bread as including spiritual nourishment and urges attention to Scripture, the Spirit, holiness and God’s timing rather than merely the turn of the calendar. This is presented as the community’s discernment of a season, not a verified prediction of each listener’s financial or physical circumstances. The teaching then turns to Galatians 4:1-7. An heir who is still a child is described as subject to guardians until the father’s appointed time. The minister uses ordinary household examples to explain the difference between possessing a promised inheritance and exercising mature responsibility. Both Paul’s contrast between life under the law and adoption in Christ, and an additional application to spiritual immaturity, are explicitly discussed. The conclusion focuses on God sending the Son at the fullness of time and sending the Spirit of the Son into believers’ hearts. The cry of Abba, Father becomes the evidence of filial relationship in the exposition, and the closing promise is that believers are sons and heirs through Christ. The episode ends in thanks for this plan. Its application is growth in responsible, confident relationship with God; assertions about illness, inheritance or recovery should not be treated as guarantees of health or wealth.
