This Evening Sacrifice installment opens with thanksgiving for God’s word and blessing in daily life, then resumes Revelation 2:6-7. The speaker pauses over the deeds of the Nicolaitans and acknowledges uncertainty about their precise identity. Two explanations are discussed: tolerated idolatry and sexual immorality, and an imposed division between leaders and other believers. The speaker favors the second as a warning against spiritual domination; this preference remains the speaker’s interpretation rather than established ancient history. The teaching contrasts leaders who demand deference and near-worship with Jesus’ example of service and washing his disciples’ feet. Leadership is presented as service to the body, while believers are encouraged to seek the Lord rather than center their devotion on a human leader. Moving to the call to hear what the Spirit says, the speaker distinguishes physical listening from inward responsiveness and applies the warnings beyond the Ephesian congregation. The closing movement makes humility and correction central to overcoming. The speaker asks how believers can change while refusing correction and observes that a corrective word may arrive through someone without status. The reference to receiving the implanted word with meekness leads into the promise of the tree of life and a connection between Genesis and Revelation. A final prayer asks for humility, meekness, strength above the flesh and transformation into Christ’s image, followed by a blessing and programme outro.
