DAY 1 AFTERNOON SESSION

Receive the Scriptures with hunger for the understanding the Holy Spirit gives, then study, test, and practice what you hear. Pentecost calls for a fresh filling of the Spirit and a heightened awareness of the life already given in Christ. Being born again and possessing spiritual gifts do not remove the need to be continually filled and governed by him. Move beyond the influence of worldliness by allowing the Spirit to reshape what you think, desire, and choose. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus brings freedom from the law of sin and death and enables God’s purpose to find expression in daily life. Priesthood is a sustained life of consecration, prayer, Scripture, and surrender. Israel’s retreat from God’s voice at Sinai warns against receiving a message without drawing near for inward change. Welcome the fear of the Lord that keeps from sin, restrain desires that oppose his will, and let the flesh and its passions be put to death by the Spirit. Christ is the substance of the priestly shadows, the slain Lamb who reigns, and the life supplied through the bread and wine. Grow into righteousness and the consciousness of a royal priesthood on earth. Give in honor of the Most High rather than treating worship as a bargain for material increase. The prayers of the saints are joined with incense that speaks of a life yielded through costly obedience. Allow God’s word to judge appetite, motive, and the patterns of the mind until the offering of the heart pleases him. The blood of Jesus and fellowship with his life are the goal of this ascent; outward manifestations cannot replace inward formation. Respond to the call to draw near, keep the private place of fellowship, and turn revelation into a lived commitment. Seek strength from the Spirit for the race, remain unspotted by the world, and offer God the worship and obedience of a life dedicated to him.
