DAY 1 MORNING SESSION

The royal priesthood of Jesus Christ joins fellowship with God to the expression of his righteousness and justice on earth. Sonship, maturity, obedience, and godly fear belong together in this calling. Christ’s prayers, tears, suffering, and completed obedience establish the pattern for those who follow him. Enter the position already given in Christ through learning and lived response, and carry priestly responsibility beyond the worship meeting into family, work, society, and the nations. God is the possessor of heaven and earth, and his people must seek the fulfilment of his will where they have been placed. Prayer and prophecy need the Holy Spirit’s refining work. The incense offered with the prayers of the saints points to worship, motives, and utterance purified before God rather than driven by pride, sentiment, or personal ambition. Seek the fragrance of Christ’s knowledge as well as knowledge itself. The vision of the Branch ruling as a priest upon his throne brings together priestly service and kingly responsibility; fellowship with Christ equips his people to share that responsibility. Remain attentive to his direction, refuse to compete for wealth or influence, and submit the use of gifts and resources to his purposes and justice. Activate this calling through spiritual growth, consistent prayer, obedience, and worship. Begin with your own life, home, and assigned sphere, and seek God’s direction rather than abandoning responsibility when opposition or discouragement arises. Receive prophetic instruction seriously and pursue the maturity needed to understand and apply it. Fresh spiritual fire must be sustained through prayer and watchfulness, with the heart continually turned toward Jesus. Cultivate the practice of ministering to the Lord with songs, thanksgiving, awe, and love, offering what he desires. The heart of the priest and fellowship with the High Priest make priestly service effective.
