The Melchizedek Priesthood pt2 - Francis Isibor, Daytime Meditations

• July 27, 2019

Francis Isibor argues that entering Christ’s kingdom requires learning a new way of life, just as moving between cultures or entering a profession requires training. Psalm 1 and the description of believers as a royal priesthood introduce meditation and priestly identity. Colossians 1 then provides a sustained prayer for wisdom, spiritual understanding, fruitful conduct and participation in the saints’ inheritance.

The speaker challenges practices that borrow procedures from occult accounts or traditional religion while changing their language. The proposed alternative is to learn Jesus’ instructions, the authority of his name and the work of the Holy Spirit rather than elaborate methods based on fear or supposed knowledge of darkness.

Acts 1 is read to emphasize empowerment for witness. Witnessing is explained as more than preaching: believers should increasingly express Christ’s nature. A manufacturing-pattern illustration presents Jesus as the model and the Spirit as the one who forms that likeness. The closing discussion of communion stresses discernment and learning appropriate priestly conduct. The description dates this Daytime Meditation recording to July 27, 2019.
