God’s desire is that His kingdom come and His will be done on earth, and one of the clearest expressions of that kingdom is a people who, though diverse in background, denomination, doctrine, culture, preference, and ministry, are being brought into genuine oneness in Christ. This unity cannot be manufactured by organizations, enforced through uniformity, or achieved by persuading everyone to adopt the same secondary doctrines and practices; it comes as individual believers mature through beholding Christ, knowing Him as the truth, feeding upon Him as their spiritual bread, and allowing His life to transform them from divisive children into peacemaking sons. Salvation is not merely deliverance from judgment; God desires that those who are saved also come to the knowledge of the truth, and that truth is ultimately centered in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Scripture must therefore continually bring you back to Him—His death, resurrection, lordship, life, and purpose—rather than becoming ammunition for establishing spiritual superiority. The death and resurrection of Christ are the great common sign around which every genuine believer can gather; secondary matters such as methods of discipleship, styles of prayer, fasting, dress, church traditions, spiritual manifestations, theological distinctives, political preferences, and ministry practices must never become identities or walls stronger than the cross that has already broken down separation. To pray, “Your kingdom come,” is therefore to accept the responsibility of becoming a gatherer rather than a scatterer. Ask God for bread not merely for yourself but so that you can feed others with the life of Christ; receive grace and revelation so that what nourishes you can flow through you to another person. Forgive because you have been immeasurably forgiven, refusing to allow offenses, bitterness, betrayal, disagreement, or wounded pride to imprison you and sever fellowship with other members of Christ’s body. Forgiveness does not declare wrongdoing acceptable; it frees your heart to remain governed by Christ rather than by the injury. You may disagree sharply with another believer, pursue different assignments, belong to different congregations, and even go separate ways in ministry without becoming enemies or destroying fellowship. The kingdom includes every person who has truly received Christ, not merely the people inside your congregation, denomination, network, or theological circle. Whenever spiritual pride causes you to believe that your group alone possesses the blessing, revelation, holiness, authority, or correct method, you are in danger of rebuilding the very walls Christ died to destroy. Even genuine gifts, miracles, revelations, doctrines, and practices can become instruments of scattering when they are used to exalt personalities, create exclusive camps, or separate believers from one another. The evidence of maturity is therefore not merely how long you pray, how often you fast, what you wear, what manifestations accompany your ministry, or how precisely you defend your theological distinctives, but whether Christ has enlarged your heart enough for you to love, receive, forgive, serve, and fellowship with His people. There is no shortcut or institutional formula for this transformation; it begins with you. Ask where you have become offended, exclusive, proud, suspicious, territorial, controlling, or unwilling to fellowship with another genuine believer, and allow Christ to change you there. Then make unity practical: approach people outside your familiar circle, share meals, visit one another, listen to what Christ is doing in each other, pray together, share the life you have received, reconcile broken relationships, and refuse gossip, backbiting, rivalry, personality worship, and competition. One transformed believer can help another, who can help another, until the gospel of peace spreads from person to person and the body increasingly displays the unity for which Jesus prayed. The world has already seen enough Christian division; it must now be given visible evidence that the Father sent the Son through a people whose love for one another transcends their differences. Let your ambition therefore cease to be building your own name, group, platform, or kingdom. Become a servant, a peacemaker, and a gatherer—rooted in the knowledge of Christ, nourishing others with His life, forgiving as you have been forgiven, and laboring so that the scattered children of God may increasingly be seen as the one body they already are in Him.
Lord, let Your Kingdom come and let Your will be done in the body of Christ.
Father, bring Your people into the unity of the faith and the knowledge of Your Son.
Reveal Your glory to us and transform us into the same image as we behold You.
Lord Jesus, establish me in the knowledge of the truth and make Christ the center of my fellowship with other believers.
Father, teach me to forgive others as Christ has forgiven me, and remove every offense, bitterness, and hurt that hinders fellowship.
Lord, change me and make me a mature peacemaker who can fellowship with believers who differ from me.
Help me to be a gatherer and not a scatterer.
Deliver me from denominational pride, doctrinal superiority, self-centeredness, personality worship, and every identity that competes with Christ.
Teach me to feed others with the life and truth I receive from Christ.
Renew my mind with the gospel of peace and help me practically walk in fellowship, servanthood, love, and reconciliation.
