God has called us to become a kingdom of kings and priests who reign upon the earth through intimacy with Him and participation in His divine life. However, no one can exercise spiritual authority beyond the measure of light and understanding they possess. Our ability to represent God is directly connected to how much of His nature and purposes have been revealed within us. This is why the eyes of our understanding must continually be enlightened through the Spirit of wisdom and revelation. True fellowship with God is intended to transform our thinking, enlarge our spiritual capacity, and bring us into deeper conformity with Christ. We cannot reign effectively without first learning His heart, because genuine authority flows from intimacy, and true priesthood is established through communion with God.
God's purpose is not merely to raise spiritually mature individuals but to bring His entire Church into the fullness of Christ. Just as the children of Israel were expected to possess their inheritance together, believers must recognize their responsibility toward one another. We are called to pray for the saints, strengthen the weak, encourage spiritual growth, and ensure that no one is neglected in the journey toward maturity. The unity of the faith is not simply agreement in doctrine but a corporate entrance into the knowledge, nature, and life of the Son of God. The Church must become one mature body through which Christ is fully expressed.
The biblical feasts reveal important dimensions of God's redemptive plan and His desire for communion with humanity. They are more than religious ceremonies; they represent appointed encounters through which God reveals His purposes and prepares His people for spiritual transformation. Passover reveals redemption through the sacrifice of Christ, Firstfruits points to His resurrection, and Pentecost reveals the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The feasts of Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles further emphasize preparation, purification, reconciliation, and the fullness of God's dwelling among His people. These appointed seasons reveal that redemption is a progressive journey into the life and purposes of God, rather than merely an outward religious experience.
Through His sacrifice, Jesus Christ fulfilled what the old covenant priesthood could only represent. While the former high priests repeatedly entered the sanctuary with the blood of animals, Christ entered the heavenly sanctuary through His own blood and obtained eternal redemption once and for all. His blood cleanses the conscience from dead works and grants believers access to the throne of grace. We are therefore invited into direct fellowship with God, not merely to receive forgiveness but to participate in the divine life made available through Christ. Christianity is fundamentally about receiving God's own life and allowing that life to transform our entire existence.
This is the deeper meaning of Christ's instruction to eat His flesh and drink His blood. Spiritual feeding is not physical consumption but the inward reception and assimilation of the life communicated through God's Word by the Holy Spirit. Just as natural food nourishes and sustains the body, the incorruptible Word of God nourishes the spirit and produces the nature of Christ within us. Eternal life is not merely a future reward after death; it is the life of God made available to us in Christ. Receiving this life begins a process of transformation that must continue through consistent spiritual nourishment, fellowship, and obedience.
The account of Adam and Eve reveals how receiving a word can alter the nature and direction of a person's life. The serpent introduced an alternative understanding that gradually influenced Eve's perception, desires, and decisions. By accepting a word contrary to God's instruction, humanity entered into corruption and death. In this sense, eating represents believing and receiving something until it becomes part of one's inward reality. Every seed produces after its kind, and every word we receive carries the potential to reproduce its nature within us. We must therefore carefully consider what we believe, whose influence we receive, and what kind of life is being formed through the knowledge we embrace.
Ultimately, God's intention is to form a people who do more than practice Christianity outwardly. He desires sons who carry His nature, understand His heart, express His love, and reveal His glory. Every revelation, spiritual encounter, act of worship, and ministry of the Word should contribute to this transformation. We must continually feed on Christ, allow His Word to renew our minds, remain in fellowship with His Spirit, and grow together in the unity of His body. The goal of our faith is not merely to know about Christ, but to become living expressions of His life, until His fullness is revealed through us upon the earth.
Lord, flood the eyes of my understanding with light and enlarge my spiritual sight.
Father, draw me into intimacy with You so that I may exercise authority from the knowledge of Your heart.
Lord, make us a true nation of priests who enter our inheritance together.
Father, bring the saints into the unity of the faith and the measure of the fullness of Christ.
Lord, give me grace to recognize and honor Your appointed times of communion and transformation.
Father, cause Your incorruptible Word to enter me with life and continually transform me into the image of Christ.
Lord, purify me from every mixture that cannot produce the life of Christ.
Father, teach me to love the brethren and live consciously as a member of the body of Christ.
Lord, let the blood and life of Christ cleanse my conscience and establish me in covenant life.
Father, through communion with Christ, bring healing, opened eyes, spiritual nourishment, and the life of the age to come into my being.
