Desire God and open your heart to the Spirit’s life-giving work. The promise of water on thirsty ground becomes a prayer for an outpouring at the Youth Fire Conference: receptive hearts, healing, renewed life, and willingness to receive the word. Cultivate the seed that God gives rather than allowing hardness, shallow roots, or competing growth to choke it. Guard what you receive, remain faithful when no one is watching, and build through wisdom, understanding, and practical obedience so that the work can withstand testing. Keep your eyes on the Lord, the source of help and the author and finisher of faith. Pray from the inward life of the Spirit, with the delight that draws from the wells of salvation, and wait on God for deliverance. Intercede for conference participants to be freed from addiction, evil desires, sickness, and other burdens, and to surrender willingly to God’s holiness. Maintain unity, defend and care for one another, and depend on God’s presence rather than treating preparation or logistics as sufficient in themselves. Receive strength through fellowship and Communion, and make room for the Lord to work among his people. Take responsibility for learning and practising priesthood rather than assigning the whole spiritual life of the community to a single minister. The whole people are being built as living stones into a holy habitation; ministry is meant to equip them to function. The closing exhortation locates Christian roots in Israel, urges preparation for Christ’s return and the restoration of all things, and calls the community to training in Melchizedek priesthood. Seek revelation so that Christ is revealed within you, rather than using knowledge as a reason to boast.
