God’s purpose and instruction must become living knowledge within the heart. Yield to his drawing out of noise into the stillness of the most holy place, learn his quiet voice personally, and recognize that voice when it comes through other believers. Keep Christ himself above ministry and every gift he has given. Righteousness begins as something credited through Christ, becomes inwardly imparted through hearing and obedience, and grows into a garment expressed as transformed character and light. True priestly ministry proceeds from hearing God and teaches discernment between holy and unholy; theological knowledge and impressive speech cannot replace the purity of his voice. Seek the Beloved beyond familiar routines and borrowed experiences. When former meeting places no longer satisfy, press into a deeper knowledge of him rather than assuming he has abandoned you. Ministers can point the way, but personal, face-to-face communion cannot be delegated. Hold fast to the one your soul loves, enter the reality of heavenly fellowship, and become a mature son able to represent God to creation. Let every wall of attachment come down, including ministry, reputation, relationships, and spiritual gifts when they prevent obedience. Surrender mind, will, emotions, and desires; in the intimate embrace of the Bridegroom, the little foxes, blemishes, and works of the flesh are exposed and removed. Become acquainted with God, receive instruction directly from his mouth, and let his Spirit write it indelibly in your heart. Exchange the old nature for his glory, let prayer become dialogue shaped by his desires, and serve people without self-advertisement. Set aside regular, protected time simply to be with him, without an agenda, and remain faithful through distraction and delayed results. Seek his abiding habitation and depend on grace to carry out the instructions received. Join communion to renewed obedience, and answer the closing corporate prayer summons with sustained intercession in response to the reported warning of a coming storm.
