Living in Wholeness; Integrity as a Kingdom Virtue

• February 5, 2026 • 167 views

Let Scripture define both the path of discipleship and the character of the life being sought. Attend to its cultural setting so that priestly and bridal language can be understood, while seeking the Holy Spirit’s illumination rather than merely collecting information. Christ reveals God’s character in his responses to life, and his people must reflect the same truthfulness. Integrity means wholeness and completeness: a technically correct fragment can still misrepresent the whole situation. Abraham’s description of Sarah as his sister concealed their marriage and endangered others. Refuse self-protective half-truths, false appearances, and cultural habits that excuse deception; let kingdom identity govern conduct. Present your life to God as a truthful, whole offering with pure motives. The requirement for unblemished sacrifices shows the seriousness of what is brought before him, and Christ is the perfect offering. Ananias and Sapphira’s offense was their deceptive presentation, not a failure to surrender every coin: the property and proceeds were theirs to dispose of, and offerings are voluntary. Give offerings freely, while recognizing the distinct obligation of a ten-percent tithe. Speak and act in truth, and never make loyalty to a spouse or another person an excuse for lying. Study the Word until it shapes decisions, and accept that people may resist the truth even when God values it. Choose integrity when it costs something. Deny yourself, trust God under pressure, refuse bribery, and prepare the documents and practical responsibilities that honest conduct requires. Seek the Spirit’s wisdom in difficult circumstances: Samuel’s authorized sacrifice was genuine, and protecting an innocent person from murder is distinguished from deception for personal convenience or concealment of wrongdoing. Let truth be joined with mercy rather than cruelty. When fear or failure exposes deceit, acknowledge it honestly, confess sin, receive cleansing, and continue growing instead of resisting conviction. Open every part of your life to God, ask for strength to carry the cross, and receive communion as a renewed commitment to the truthful, whole life of his kingdom.
