Overcoming belongs to the life into which every believer is born. Difficult seasons are not an escape from God’s purpose: they train faith, deepen prayer, and teach the effective use of his word. Victory is larger than the removal of sickness, financial difficulty, or another immediate struggle; the central journey is to overcome this present evil world. Seek lasting inward change rather than the excitement of spiritual manifestations, and steward encounters through continued attention to the Holy Spirit. Personal instructions and consecrations must remain personal rather than becoming doctrines by which others are judged. God has brought his people out of Egypt and the house of bondage, yet a slavery mentality can remain in the mind. Fear then governs instinctive reactions, produces unbelief, and makes former bondage seem more real than the freedom received in Christ. The wilderness is a place of training in which the mind must be renewed by God’s word. Meditate, confess, and act on that word until freedom becomes the governing inward reality. Receive God as Father, and replace fear of evil, people, failure, and circumstances with love for him. The fear of the Lord grows as that love becomes a refusal to disobey him rather than an excuse to sin and seek forgiveness afterward. Christ’s redemption delivers his people from their enemies so they can serve him without fear, in holiness and righteousness all their days. Bring the mind under the cleansing ministry of Jesus’ blood and refuse the grip of torment, accusation, discouragement, and evil thoughts. Deliberately think on what is true, pure, lovely, and of good report; speak the Scriptures aloud when destructive thoughts press in, and pray in the Spirit while keeping attention on the Father. Communion, thanksgiving, and the confession of the mind of Christ accompany this response. Give God the whole life, including mind, body, substance, soul, heart, and gifts, and continue practicing the word after the gathering.
Father, renew my mind through your word and remove the mentality of slavery and fear.
Teach me to use difficult seasons to seek you, pray, and mature in overcoming faith.
Let my love for you become reverent obedience that refuses compromise.
By the blood of Jesus, break the grip of accusation, discouragement, and oppressive thoughts over my mind.
Help me deliberately meditate on what is true, pure, lovely, and of good report.
Keep my attention on you as I pray in the Spirit and confess the mind of Christ.
Enable me to serve you without fear, in holiness and righteousness, all my days.
Establish lasting transformation in this house and help us faithfully steward what you have given.
