Possessing Your Spiritual Inheritance and Building a Consistent Walk With God

Every spiritual blessing and treasure of God has already been made available to the new creation in Christ, but these riches must be discovered, possessed, and brought into practical operation before their benefits are experienced. Spiritual resources are the underlying substance from which outward realities proceed, so genuine poverty is fundamentally spiritual rather than merely material. Pursue revelation concerning what God has provided, possess those realities through faith and spiritual growth, and learn to function from them rather than living as though the new creation were inadequately supplied. Among these treasures, the highest purpose of human creation is fellowship and relationship with God. From Adam onward, God has desired a people set apart for Himself, drawn by His love into intimacy, communion, and ultimately union with Him.
The new creation has been given access to a divine level of relationship because divine life has been implanted within everyone born of God. Union with Christ means more than external worship or a distant relationship between humanity and God; it is a progressive participation in the life and nature of God. The seed received at the new birth must therefore grow toward maturity until the believer comes to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. Treasure the reality of the new creation, meditate upon divine truth until revelation unfolds, and walk in that revelation so that what God placed within becomes functional experience. Spiritual maturity is a progressive movement from merely possessing divine life in seed form toward increasingly expressing divine realities in character, consciousness, and daily living.
This upward journey also requires conquering and superseding the earthly realm so that the pressures of earthly life no longer dominate spiritual progress. Receive Christ's light as God's answer to ignorance and life's problems, walk as a child of light, and allow truth to bring freedom from anxiety, fear, cares, burdens, lust, pride, stress, and other earthly entanglements. Such freedom prepares the believer for the deeper journey into divine-state realities such as abiding peace, joy, assurance, and rest. These realities are progressively possessed through truth and revelation until they become the basis from which life is lived. Seek God Himself above merely seeking what He can provide, because the greatest gift God can give is Himself.
