Obedience must deal decisively with whatever resists God's purpose in the heart. Carry out this resistance in God's presence through prayer, fasting, repentance and the sword of the Spirit. Wake from spiritual slumber, walk wisely, redeem the time and bring forth fruit worthy of repentance. The confrontation with Amalek also requires the body of Christ: just as Aaron and Hur supported Moses while Joshua fought, seek faithful companions who will strengthen your obedience and prayer until the work is accomplished. The Lord's banner of love is expressed in His commitment to His people and His opposition to what destroys their lives.
