Rejoice in Jesus’ resurrection and in the forgiveness, freedom, and new life secured through His cross. Be sober and vigilant because the adversary is cruel, fierce, and intent on affliction. Christ’s victory does not remove the need for watchfulness. Live under the higher authority available in Christ, and recognize the enemy’s rebellion, deception, and lies so that you respond with truth rather than fear or spiritual passivity. God’s Word rejects the proverb that children must bear their fathers’ guilt: every soul belongs to Him, and the soul that sins bears responsibility. Stand against adverse family patterns with the truth of your new identity and the blessing of Christ. Settle these Scriptures deeply in your heart. Use God’s written and spoken Word firmly in prayer, declaring His redemption, your transfer from darkness, and your place as Abraham’s seed. Bring oppressive patterns before God for judgment and refuse their claim over your life. Remain close to the Holy Spirit and respond to His leading in prayer and fasting. Train yourself in watchfulness and continual prayer, drawing strength and authority from fellowship with God. The account of the disciples’ difficulty casting out a spirit underlines the need for spiritual preparation. Give thanks for the testimony of Jesus’ blood, confess that God is your Father and that Christ bore the curse for your blessing, and speak His truth into the day, its conditions, and your encounters with others.
