Give thanks for the Father’s new mercies and the Holy Spirit who dwells within His children. New birth is a present transformation: whoever is in Christ is already a new creation, with old things passed away and all things made new. Let this spiritual birth govern your identity above former experiences. The birth received from the Spirit establishes a new belonging, a new family, and a new basis for understanding your life. The Jerusalem above is free and is the mother of the children of promise. As Isaac was a child of promise, believers belong to this heavenly reality. Psalm 87 describes Zion as God’s city and records those born there; identify yourself with this spiritual citizenship and receive the glorious things spoken over Zion. The Father has qualified His people for the saints’ inheritance, delivered them from darkness’s authority, and transferred them into the kingdom of His beloved Son, where redemption and forgiveness are found. Read these Scriptures repeatedly, meditate on them, speak their meaning over your life, and thank God for what He has done. Let your identity spring from Almighty God rather than pride in earthly lineage. Receive the blessings promised through Abraham by faith in Christ and become quick to recognize what God says about you. Knowledge is necessary for entering into an inheritance: discover what the Father has given and lay hold of it. Pray for today’s portion of that inheritance, renewed hope and faith, and the ministry of God’s angels.
