God is a real person and a Father who has deliberately brought His children to Himself. As Israel was carried out of Egypt on eagles’ wings, those born of God through Jesus Christ have been received into relationship with Him. Belonging to Christ makes believers Abraham’s seed and heirs of the promise; receive the scriptural promises and instructions as an inheritance to be lived. God’s purpose is that His people hear His voice, keep His covenant, and become His special treasure. Learn to recognize the Father’s voice and obey what He says. Hearing Him is not reserved for mature believers: children recognize a parent’s voice, and God’s children should expect their Father to speak to them. Practice stillness, meditate on Scripture and on the person of Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and remain quiet in God’s presence. Obey His present speaking and search the written Scriptures for His instructions in righteousness. Grow patiently, following the Lord one step at a time instead of trying to master everything at once. The Father owns the whole earth and all its resources. He has cleansed and forgiven His people so that they may be His peculiar treasure, a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. Every believer is called to priesthood, and this royal priesthood includes both kingship and service to God. Righteousness has already been given in Christ; holiness is its fruit, becoming visible as believers hear the Father and keep His covenant. Read Exodus 19 repeatedly, memorize it if possible, and live consciously as God’s child.
