God looks for the fruit of His Word in the lives of His people. The grain offering of Leviticus 2 is applied to hearing and offering back what God gives: avoid the leaven of exaggeration and distorted context, and the honey of making His demands merely palatable. Add the salt of covenant, interpreted through Mark 9 as fire. Join receiving the Word to abiding in Christ, prayer, fasting, and heartfelt engagement until truth produces a changed life. Even a small measure of strength can be faithfully offered; bring what you hear before the Lord rather than letting it pass as another meeting. The gospel of the kingdom directs faith toward Christ’s appearing, eternal life, and the salvation of the soul. Receive that hope neither casually nor with torment, but with meekness, patience, and love for His appearing. Welcome correction and seek God’s purpose in the whole counsel of Scripture, allowing apparently contrasting passages to enlarge understanding rather than discarding one. Love becomes mature through keeping Christ’s commandments and loving others according to His instruction. Put deliberate spiritual growth into practice and seek the power to stand before Him without shame. Take root so that persecution, deception, offence, and abounding iniquity do not sweep away what God is building. Deception can destroy the weak or deprive the strong of their reward, so hold fast to the truth and guard the crown entrusted to you. Refuse to nurture offence or lower the standard of righteousness to gain acceptance. Grace empowers worthy obedience and perseverance. Use the strength you have, resist the enemy, ask for help, and remain immovable on God’s Word until the end.
Father, give us childlike faith, open understanding, and undistracted hearts to receive Your Word.
Teach us to hear in Your intended context without exaggerating or diluting what You say.
Join our hearing to the fire of prayer, intimacy, and obedient action until we bear fruit.
Root our hope in Christ’s appearing, eternal life, and the salvation of our souls.
Perfect us in love through keeping Your commandments and loving one another.
Strengthen us to overcome offence, persecution, deception, and iniquity.
Keep us faithful to the truth so that we guard what You have entrusted to us.
Empower us to use our little strength, resist the enemy, and endure to the end.
Increase our sobriety, meekness, spiritual stature, and effective contribution to the body.
