Growing Into the Pattern of Christ; The Bruising That Reveals Life

• June 1, 2026 • 86 views

God creates His people in Christ for a prepared walk of good works. Christ’s sinless response to suffering supplies the pattern: He did not retaliate when insulted or threaten when afflicted, but entrusted Himself to the righteous Judge. Revelation must become an experienced, daily way of life. Ministry activity, eloquent teaching, and the length of a prayer cannot substitute for keeping God’s commandments and allowing righteousness to govern the response to offence. Knowing Christ through the Word and fellowship with the Holy Spirit produces the strength to walk as He walked. Receive the truth with meekness, transact with it in prayer, and let the Spirit bring it to remembrance when pressure comes. Prayer is a living relationship and continuing conversation with God, rather than mere religious formality. Embrace disciplined, sometimes prolonged engagement and depend on the Spirit’s help in weakness. Let the Word and Spirit shape prayer beyond personal desires, and prepare inwardly before adversity tests what has been learned. Understand Christ’s bruising in relation to the Father’s redemptive purpose: distinguish the afflicting adversary from God’s permission and His purpose to bring life out of suffering. Knowing God makes His people strong enough to resist flattering deception and to express Christ under pressure. This formation also serves compassionate priesthood: intercede for Nigeria, its leaders and captives, seek the enlightening of the church’s understanding, and grow into a people capable of stewarding the destiny of nations. The available transcript ends while the meaning of knowing God, strength, and exploits is still being developed.
