Exercising Spiritual Senses for Discernment

• June 22, 2026 • 97 views

Draw near to God with confidence through the blood of Jesus, while depending on the Spirit for both sight and strength. Revelation must become obedience: seeing the will of God calls for the capacity to run with it and produce its fruit. Watch and keep what God has entrusted to you, abide in Christ, and guard against the shame that follows disobedience. Consider the warning about keeping garments alongside Adam and Eve’s nakedness and hiding, and examine whether religious appearance or self-justification is concealing a failure to obey. Do not remain a hearer who accumulates knowledge without receiving its transforming reality. Exercise spiritual senses through consistent use of the word of righteousness. Maturity makes discernment possible when an attractive opportunity carries consequences that are not immediately visible. Material gain can appear to be provision while requiring the surrender of faith; test such an opportunity by God’s will and practice self-denial rather than sacrificing the soul for advantage. Consider the contrast between Adam and Christ with a desire for growth, overcoming, and participation in divine life. Distinguish the scriptural text from interpretive suggestions about the trees, image and likeness, and humanity’s original condition; exercise care where understandings differ. Pursue fellowship that builds the body of Christ through patient listening, humility, and prayer. Receive spiritual instruction without turning revelation into a competition for rank, and examine what is shared without forcing immediate agreement. Ask the Spirit to give light, preserve unity, expose empty religious coverings, and form the life of Christ in daily conduct. Carry the gathering’s prayer beyond discussion into intercession for the nation, families, and ministries. Receive strength to represent Christ in the home, community, and workplace, so that the truth heard becomes a visible way of life.
