Knowing God Enough to Represent Him in Every Sphere of Life

• June 29, 2026 • 91 views

Priesthood begins with knowing God intimately and grows into making the invisible God visible through human life. The Holy Spirit opens the eyes of understanding, removes veils, and brings the new creation into the reality revealed in Christ. Come to the Lord, willingly take his yoke, and learn his ways until the thoughts and motions of the soul agree with him. Isaiah’s call to forsake unrighteous ways is applied to the believer’s continuing transformation, while Jesus’ yoke gives a practical picture of following his movement and learning his life. Embrace God wholeheartedly rather than dividing allegiance between him and mammon, and let intimate knowledge become wise, accessible witness in ordinary encounters. Watching and keeping one’s garments means attending to God’s instructions through prayer, obedience, and a continuing walk with him. Adam and Eve’s nakedness, fig leaves, and hiding among the garden’s trees expose the danger of replacing living fellowship with a religious covering. The trees are explored symbolically as knowledge and instruction intended to impart life; possessing that knowledge without becoming what it teaches can instead become a hiding place. A form must yield the life it signifies. Ministerial achievements, fasting, giving, miracles, doctrinal insight, and religious symbols cannot substitute for Christ’s character and fruit. The fruitless fig tree, the self-justifying Pharisee, and Sardis’s reputation for life while dead all call for humility, discernment, and a return to God’s righteousness rather than self-made justification. Apply the light personally: identify the particular activities, excuses, and neglected areas behind which you hide, and allow God’s continuing visitation to expose and heal them. Keep feeding on the word and exercising the spiritual senses rather than living on yesterday’s revelation or ministry activity alone. Receive Christ through fellow believers, abandon doctrinal pride, and let shared life make the community a place of nourishment, correction, and growing understanding. Knowledge must issue in transformed lives, discipleship, and bringing sinners to Christ. Carry the life received in fellowship into the city and every sphere of human service, so that the knowledge of God’s glory is made visible through a people who know him and embody his life.
