The Difference Between Knowing and Finding the Word

• June 27, 2026 • 140 views

Testimony reveals the work of Christ most deeply when it shows a transformed life, faith kept under pressure, and obedience valued above material gain. Natural loss can accompany spiritual victory; the worth of faith cannot be measured only by money, comfort, or visible success. Abraham looked beyond immediate benefits to the city whose builder and maker is God. Examine what you are really pursuing, and refuse the pressure to make wealth, recognition, or even an answered prayer the final goal of your journey. God’s work of building faith and aligning desire with his purpose is more valuable than simply fulfilling every personal wish. Knowing a verse mentally is different from finding the word through personal fellowship, searching, and conviction. Hear God before taking an audacious step; someone else’s testimony does not authorize copying an action without the word that sustained it. Faith believes God’s word enough to act on it, whereas mental agreement alone leaves the life unchanged. Remain conscious of being seated with Christ in heavenly places, build fresh experience with God, and let the hope before you govern your choices. Receive God as Scripture reveals him, including his goodness and holy fear, rather than forcing Scripture to accommodate a preferred picture of him. God’s purpose precedes creation: his people are chosen to be holy and blameless in love, adopted as sons, and formed for his pleasure. Isaiah’s call to forsake wicked ways becomes an invitation to exchange our thoughts and ways for God’s. Holiness consecrates the entire life to that purpose, including work, ambition, conduct, and what the eyes receive. Meditation brings alignment as God’s thoughts are received until they are embodied. Take stock of decisions, guard the heart from corrupting images and influences, and yield to the Holy Spirit until relationships and actions reflect Christ. Let the injustice of the world awaken longing for the Lord’s return, and pray for his will and burdens to become your own.
