The Discipline of the Spirit-Led Life

Chinyere Isibor • April 21, 2026 • 18 views

Run the Christian race to obtain the imperishable prize, with disciplined conduct and self-control in every area. Soberness means paying attention to the Holy Spirit, examining circumstances through God’s word, and asking what the Lord is saying and requiring. Spiritual knowledge alone does not qualify a person for the prize; the life lived must express what has been received. Take the teaching seriously, remove distractions, record the scriptures, review the notes, and listen repeatedly so that the word’s life produces actual change. The Holy Spirit’s power brings believers into God’s family and transforms them into a living witness of His life. Receive God consciously as Father and live as His offspring. Miracles, healing, deliverance, and tongues are genuine operations of divine power, but they do not exhaust its purpose. Every believer must grow from the glory of new birth into further expressions of God’s life; the Spirit who raised Jesus also gives life to mortal bodies. The goal belongs to the whole body, rather than a small class of ministers while everyone else remains a spectator. Live daily in the consciousness of the Holy Spirit’s presence and ask Him for help in ordinary situations, prayer, Bible reading, discernment, and obedience. Ask sincerely, with a heart willing to follow His instruction. Spiritual growth requires personal practice: receive God’s virtues, pray them into daily living, and measure the changes in character. Worship in spirit instead of treating a physical place as a guarantee of answered prayer, while valuing quiet places set apart for seeking God. Repent of neglecting the Helper and rely on Him continually to teach, lead, and bring the life of Christ into expression.
