Filling the Heart With God’s Word; Dining at the Lord’s Table

Francis Isibor Jr • February 18, 2026 • 7 views

God invites his people to a prepared feast of his word, presence, will, and life. Come beneath the loving shadow of Christ and receive the rich provision pictured in Isaiah’s feast of fat things and well-refined wine. What is already inherited in Christ must become living, tangible reality in the soul; worldliness and double-mindedness obstruct that reception. Respond with your whole heart, approach the throne of grace boldly, and cultivate the hunger that receives rather than turns away from the invitation. Fill the heart with God’s word as Ezekiel ate the scroll before speaking to Israel. Receive not only comfort but also God’s judgments against the darkness that has ruled within: his word brings an end to impurity, wavering, and competing allegiances. The peace God ordains establishes his work and silences rival dominion, leaving the name of Jesus as the heart’s single confession. Let the removal of the covering awaken zeal, sustained prayer, and a clearer sight of the Lord. Refuse prayerlessness and self-glory, cleanse divided desires, and seek God without needing a public role or recognition. Know the Lord as husband and direct the heart’s longing toward him rather than reflexively reaching for distractions. Offer attention, focus, imagination, and inward space to him as an act of priestly devotion. Seek living union with Christ and openness to his presence and angelic ministry; past encounters cannot substitute for present hunger. Delegate other responsibilities where possible, but retain your own time with the Lord. Ask for provision that supports undistracted devotion, choose him amid present responsibilities, and keep filling the inner life with his counsel, Spirit, and word.

  5. 5

Ask for the veil of prayerlessness to lift and for fresh zeal to seek the Lord in secret.

  7. 7

  9. 9

Ask for the community’s prayer and preparation to receive the word God intends for its youth gathering.
